Innova Valkyrie
The Innova Valkyrie is a stable fairway driver (9/4/-2/2) - good for intermediate players.
Our take on the Valkyrie
If you're working toward more distance and a bit of turnover off the tee, the Valkyrie is a smart pick. It's a speed 9 fairway driver with a -2 turn and only 2 fade, which makes it an understable, beadless disc (0 stability) that flips up easily and holds a long, gliding line without slamming hard left at the end for right-handed backhand throwers. The 4 glide keeps it floating once it gets going.
Think of it as a more accessible cousin to the classic Innova Sidewinder, but with slightly less glide and a touch more speed. The narrow 1.9 cm rim and standard 21.1 cm diameter keep it comfortable in the hand even if your grip is still developing.
This is a beginner-to-intermediate driver, and that's the catch. If you already throw with power, the -2 turn will burn over and turn unreliable in a headwind. Pick lighter DX weights to flip it, or Champion plastic if you want it to hold its shape longer. At $9.99 to $21.99, it's an easy disc to learn distance with.
